West Indies lose again, don’t know how to win
October 26, 2015
0

The hapless West Indies men’s cricket team lost the 2nd test match against Sri Lanka by 72 runs and is now 0-2.  In this match, at a different venue, this match was there for the taking but, as we’ve seen in recent years, the West Indies wasn’t able to capitalize.

Scores in the mach were:

Sri Lanka – 200 & 206

West Indies – 163 and 171

I have heard comments from people that, perhaps, they need Stephanie Taylor and the women’s team to play in their stead.  While that is a joke, I hope, people have been so frustrated with the West Indies, the board, the selectors, and the players.  There needs to be something to add a spark.  What does the West Indies need?  Anyone has any ideas?

Schaefer makes controversial comments after Reggae Boyz loss to South Korea
October 14, 2015

Shortly after a humbling 0-3 loss in yesterday’s friendly to South Korea, Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz coach Winfried Schaefer, currently fighting a 2-game suspension, said he didn’t expect the team he went with to beat the South Koreans. That statement, along with the Boyz’ play, drew ire from Captain Horace Burrell.

The Boyz have not played well since the first half of the Gold Cup finals vs Mexico, four (4) games ago. Since then they look like a team searching for an identity. I know that a few impact players from the Gold Cup squad have not played, but something is wrong. With next round World Cup qualification, the group stage, coming up against tough teams, now is not the time to be slacking. The Boyz play Panama, a team that has fared well against them historically, at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica, on November 13, 2015.

Let’s hope that this is a wake-up call to Captain Burrell, Coach Schaefer, and all of the Reggae Boyz.
