The West Indies fell to a humiliating 160 run defeat at the hands of Bangladesh in the 2nd one day international (ODI) after being easily brushed aside in the first ODI.
Batting first, Bangladesh was reeling a bit after losing 3 early wickets but then steadied on the century (120) by opener Anamul Haque, reaching an impressive 292-6 from 50 overs.
West Indies, in reply, lost both openers cheaply. With Marlon Samuels also failing (2nd ODI in a row) , Gayle looking a shell of himself, and no reliable Shiv Chanderpaul to steady ship, the West Indies found themselves at 111-8 before crumbling out for 132 in 31.1 overs.
This was the most impressive victory by Bangladesh over the West Indies, a 160-run win.
After two ODIs, it’s Bangladesh 2-0 with 3 more remaining. If they didn’t take things seriously up until now, it’s time to take it seriously and salvage the series.
I sense a couple batting changes and, perhaps, one bowling change, unless they want to be whitewashed.
